2 Favorites For The Day

This morning we woke up early (6:15am) so that we can go to the swap meet early. We went to the new Safeway on Kapahulu Ave to go to the ATM & to get Starbucks. (ps-Starbucks here does not have a good track record with me. It took the guy 20 min to make the 3 of our drinks today!!) Anyhoo, we met Auntie Day, Candace & Kellan under pole #3 in the stadium lot & we were on our way. After 3 1/2 hours of shopping, we came to the hotel to drop off our stuffs & relax & then we headed out for photo ops & sight seeing. We made our way to the Pali lookout, then to Kailua to Lani Kai to Kaneohe and then towards Diamond Head & around the nice houses over there & ended up at some little beach park that I can't remember the name of. Anyhoo, out of the photos today, these 2 were a tie for my entry for the day. The first being branches of a tree at the park, which required no post processing. The way you see it is the way I shot it....and i love it! The second is coming around the park by the Shell & instead of catching the park, I caught myself in the mirror & its a badass pic! :)

Ko Olina

Yesterday morning we headed to Ko Olina where there is new construction going on along with a few new golf resorts. The place is beautiful. They have about 5 lagoons there and 2 of those are for public use, so we went. The sand was ok, a little rocky, but livable. Here is the view from where we put our stuff.

Today is a great day & a sad day all in one.....if such a thing is allowed. I received a phone call this morning at 6am Honolulu Time (8am Seattle Time) from my mom. I figured that she was just anxious & eager to talk to Nyomi, because today is her 8th birthday. And I was right....she asked if she was awake yet & wanted to sing to her. But before I could pass the phone, she said "wait, i have to tell you something....." & she told me that Auntie Bridgette Menza had passed away early this morning at home. I then passed the phone to Nyomi.....

After Nyomi got off the phone, I immediately called Kapua to check in on her & to see how she & the family was doing. I feel so awful that I cannot be at home with her, however I need to be a mommy & make sure that my baby has a great day as well, since we are not at home in Seattle with our family.

So while I'm in Honolulu on vacation & today is my baby's 8th birthday....I am still sad, not only because of a loss of a great auntie, mom, mother inlaw, wife, tutu, etc...but because I simply cannot be there for my best friend. I love all of you in Seattle & miss you all....

He Loves Me

So this morning I met my Auntie Day & cousin, Candace at the COACH store in Waikiki. Marcel came along to "control" things, but ended up helping me pick my purse out. He loves me...he really loves me!! LOL Its one store out of 4 here on Kalakaua....crazy. Anyhoo, Candace's friend works there & got us her employee discount. We walked out with 2 purses (1 for me, 1 for Auntie Day) for $317.00. NEENER NEENER!!!

Kellan Koanui

This is my big buddah boy cousin, Kellan! He's 14 months old & loves to pick pages out of books....to eat. LOL He loves to play with NuNu & loves to eat rice, miso soup & tofu. SUCH a big, happy baby!

Lonely Palm

We were walking towards the beach at Sand Island & i spotted this lonely palm all by itself. The shadow was awesome on it, so i had to take a picture of it!

A Perfect Picture

So i have very few "Perfect Pictures" in my collection. And "perfect" to me...meaning that they capture something that I will remember for the rest of my life. This is Marcel & Nyomi at Sand Island today. He was showing her that the ocean water is warmer than pool water. I love the sky, the ocean & them just spending time together.

Going to Hawaii

Sadly Nyomi & I got separated from Marcel on the flight here to Honolulu. He sat in row 23 & we sat in row 29. We tried our best to sit together, but no such luck. We arrived 30 min early in to Honolulu, our car rental process went smoothly, we got our luggage, went to the Budget place to get our keys & we were off to the Waikiki Sunset Hotel. We did get lost on our way here, but after many u-turns, we found it. We've already hit up Rainbows (OOOOH SOOO GOOD!) & the store & Longs. Its raining right now (just a little) but as soon as it goes away, we're going to take Lani to the pool downstairs. We'll be meeting Gram at the famous Pancake House tomorrow morning at 8:30am. I think that's all we'll be doing this trip, swimming & eating. OH WELL!!
