What Happens Back Stage?

Some of you have been back stage with us at performances & if you have, you have seen where the party really is. You see how we are, the real us & watch us transform in to beautiful hula dancers. When we are finished, you watch us get back in to our "real world" clothes, scrub the nasty "slut-red" lipstick off, and then you slowly see us go back to our tom-boy selves. Its actually hillarious to all of us. Here is Nalani, my hula sissy, who I believe is one of a few who have been with Uncle since about the beginning of KOK&M. Nalani kicks ass....there's no other words for her. I've watched video's of hula at the old halau (downstairs of the bowling alley) & she is STILL the same as she was back then....in between songs, she's jammin to her own beat, or singing whatever song is in her head...she's still the same! love you Nalans...

This is Nalani getting ready for our show at Woodmark Retirement Center (8/24/07)

  1. I love this shot of her, but also of you. I see you in the mirror and wonder if your camera focused on there rather than up on her, because you are sharp and she is more faded.

  2. You describe her to a T.... way to go tan! (another T...LOL)

and I gotta agree with Kili, nice composition...the added blurriness in the background and the chaos in the foreground also help tell the story you write about the picture....
